Born: 1837              Died: March 7, 1862 battle of Elkhorn Tavern

Buried: Confederate Cemetery section, Fayetteville National Cemetery

   Place: Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas

Lafayette was a member of the 2nd Missouri Infantry, Co. K and was killed at the battle of Elkhorn Tavern, otherwise known as the battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. His chapter and place in the QSCR is based from the mournful story of his father, Horatio, being killed in cold blood by Union soldiers. His story is seen here: OCTOBER 29, 1864  on the SPOTLIGHT'S drop down menu.

Horatio and several others in the area were killed by the same Union soldiers who were doing their best to wipe out southern sympathizers.
